AI is the 21st Century’s printing press. The ability to generate quality content has now become possible for all. In an era of AI-generated superabundance of content, global provenance and attribution for IP have become critical.

EIP-4844 is the much anticipated native Ethereum data availability (DA) solution in the upcoming Ethereum Cancun upgrade. However, to limit the storage requirement of the validators, EIP-4844 will discard the DA data (namely binary large objects, BLOBs) older than 18 days. In this talk, we introduce EthStorage, an Ethereum L2 solution to offer long-term available solution for EIP-4844 BLOBs with on-chain proof of storage verification. By indexing the BLOBs on-chain and storing BLOBs off-chain, EthStorage can scale to hundreds of Terabytes or even Petabytes at 1/100x to 1/1000x of Ethereum storage cost. We will demonstrate the EthStorage testnet that is integrated with EIP-4844 on the Ethereum testnet, and showcase prototypes for new Ethereum applications like vitalik's blog, decentralized Dropbox, dynamic NFTs, etc.

In this talk, we’ll explore the challenges of bringing zero-knowledge proofs as a finality mechanism to the OP Stack. This entirely removes the need for fraud proofs as blocks are equipped with validity proofs. Unfortunately, the OP stack currently changes some EVM semantics and that changes how the circuits for a block prover would need to be constructed. As an example, the deposit transactions introduced by the OP stack don’t have valid signatures -- so the circuits from the PSE for validating blocks that include them don’t work out of the box. These OP stack changes, along with other design decisions of the stack, add challenges to building an EVM equivalent ZK rollup using the stack. We explore these challenges and explain how we overcame them in Zircuit.

There are multiple high-profile cases brought by SEC against crypto asset companies currently being actively litigated in courts – Ripple, Terraform Labs, Coinbase, Binance, etc. Notably, two judges in the same district court SDNY adopted different approaches in applying the Howey test, in the Ripple case and the Terraform case, and reached different conclusions whether the relevant crypto assets are securities. Unclarity remains. How should projects grapple with these decisions and comply with securities laws?

Looking ahead, there is the potential for rollups to become the primary revenue channel for DA layers like Ethereum, Celestia, and NEAR. In the short-term, optimizations on Layer-1 blockchains for DA functionality such as proto-danksharding on Ethereum will reduce fee revenue. However, over a longer-term, the cheaper fees can unlock new blockchain-based applications across industries including gaming, social, entertainment and more. This talk will dive into the dynamics of L2 to L1 value accrual.

The search for scalability is reaching its end stages. The rapid advancement of zero-knowledge technology, parallel execution and better virtual machine design solves the "execution" constraint, allowing massive amounts of computation to be compressed to a concise proof. Meanwhile, the data-availability sampling used by Danksharding & Celestia solve the data-availability bottleneck. This leaves us with one final constraint: state growth. Why is state growth so important? And why have other virtual machines not been able to solve this issue?

In this talk I will go through our experience of building an rpc node and a sequencer for a type-2 zkEVM (0xPolygonHermez). The audience will learn the basics of different types of zkEVM (type-1, type-2, etc), the basics of Erigon architecture and how make them work together. It will also cover the differences between having a prover vs a full rollup system.

There are three sides to every story, and parallel EVMs are no exception. In this session we will examine how different EVMs achieve parallelism before and during execution, then explore how protocol changes can weave parallelism to the end of the protocol and improve end user experiences.

Ethereum in theory is often quite different than Ethereum in reality. In this talk, we dive into the fascinating and often surprising world of how the chain actually operates on a moment-to-moment basis. Data-driven insights will illuminate multiple mysterious topics including private transactions, MEV refunds, L2 gas estimation, stuck wallets, and more. Ethereum (2015-2020), Ethereum forks and “Ethereum Killers” aka alt-L1s. 3.) Original rollups (2021-current): Optimism, Arbitrum, Polygon 4.) Modular chains and modular rollups (2024+): Fraxchain, Celestia, L3s, Validiums Rollups and Modular Chain Designs and Specs (2nd/3rd of keynote): 1.) Exploring Fraxchain’s “fractal” and multi-execution environment design (Fraxtal chains). 2.) How to launch Fraxtal chains, how to launch modular rollups (other rollups that are similar: Arbitrum Orbit, OP Superchain, Polygon CDK, zkSync Custom Deploy etc) 3.)
