Martin Derka is a co-founder of Zircuit. He has years of experience in the development of smart contracts and platforms built on Ethereum, specializing in DeFi security and economic manipulations. Martin is also the Head of New Initiatives at Quantstamp, a web3 security company. Martin holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo.

Blockchain nodes and validators secure blockchains’ consensus. However, they provide no security guarantees to smart contracts operating on the blockchain. This is probably necessary on L1s, however, the architecture of rollups allows for doing more at the sequencer level. In this talk, we present our solution to the architectural and cryptographic challenge—a zero-knowledge rollup protocol implemented on top of the OP stack that brings security to the sequencer level.
