About
Elena has led an impressive career as a Software Engineer with a strong background in Canadian Government and Law Enforcement. With over 20 years of expertise in blockchain, cybersecurity, and full-stack programming, she specializes in designing and developing Enterprise Software Systems. In 2021, she was named one of 12 shortlisted honourees of Canada’s Top Women in Fintech and Blockchain by IT World Canada, and in 2022 Elena was announced as one of the Top-20 Most Influential Women in Blockchain by Hardbacon. Elena has been featured in several well-known industry publications, like Cointelegraph, and Globe and Mail, and also was invited to be a speaker at major conferences in the industry, including ETHDenver, Collision, Futurist, Blockchain Life, etc. Serving as the Decentralized Coordinator for Human Resources and Education at Metis Foundation, Elena plays a major role in fostering a healthy work environment, leading talent acquisition and retention, and ensuring continuous learning within the Foundation. Alongside her current role at MetisFoundation, Elena is a co-founder of Metis, growing the project from a start-up to a successful and sustainable business. Before founding Metis, Elena, along with Natalia Ameline & Natalia Hurn, founded Cryptochicks, a non-profit educational organization for women in web3. Through her commitment to giving back to people and a passion for education, she has helped Cryptochicks to become one of the largest blockchain advocacy and education non-profits in the world, with a presence in 56 countries
