About
Benny is a founding team member of CryptoKitties, the first NFT project to launch on Ethereum in 2017. Since the formation of Dapper Labs he has taken on many different roles from building the earliest NFT community in Asia to launching several core projects such as Cheeze Wizards, Dapper Wallet, and NBA Top Shot. During his tenure at Dapper Labs he also helped release the most iconic digital fashion project IRIDESCENCE in collaboration with The Fabricant. Benny has also made several angel investments into web3 music, fashion, gaming, and infrastructure. Since leaving Dapper Labs in 2021, Benny co-founded Future Primitive a company that coined and created Token Bound Accounts (ERC 6551), linking every NFT with it's own smart contract account.

ERC 721, the NFT standard was created 7 years ago with the basic idea of unique ownable tokens that are linked to a piece of artwork (I was part of the team that coined and created CryptoKitties). A lot has changed since then mainly the demand for more composability, interoperability, and usability. In my talk, I will be describing a full history of the NFT medium post-2017 era all the way to the present time. I'll dive deep into all the various attempts at forming new standards, new protocols, and new tools to evolve the NFT medium. The end goal is to provide the audience with the fullest picture of what has happened, what has it grown into, and where will it be going next. The onchain stack of an NFT will be the compass to the next wave of adoption.
