‍Acquiring and Staking $SPORK

‍

TLDR:

1. If you have a Web3 Wallet, copy your wallet address.

2. Fill out the $Spork Faucet Form: https://ethdenver.typeform.com/to/xUPIG5HQ

3. Stake your spork at stake.sporkdao.io

Desktop Wallet Configuration:

  1. Choosing Your Wallet: Begin by selecting a wallet that aligns with your preferences. Consider MetaMask, Phantom, or Rainbow, each offering unique features.

  2. Wallet Website Visit: Navigate to your chosen wallet's official site for comprehensive guides on downloading and installing the browser extension.

Rainbow Wallet: Head over to Rainbow's Official Site.

Clave Wallet: Clave Wallet Official Site.

  1. Extension Installation and Pinning: Post-installation, locate the extension icon within your browser's toolbar, usually near the puzzle piece icon for extensions. Pin your wallet's icon for convenient access.


Mobile Wallet Configuration:

  1. Wallet Selection: Opt for a wallet that fulfills your mobile needs, such as MetaMask and Rainbow offering mobile-friendly versions.

  2. App Store Navigation: For iOS users, explore the Apple App Store, while Android users should visit the Google Play Store.

  3. App Installation: Search for your selected wallet and install the official app from the store.


Setting Up Your Wallet on Mobile:

  1. Opening the App: Launch the installed wallet app.

  2. Initial Setup Choices: New users can opt to create a new wallet, while existing users may import their wallet.

  3. Agreeing to Terms: Accept the app's terms and conditions before proceeding.

  5. Password and Seed Phrase: Set up a strong password and generate your seed phrase, a critical recovery tool for your wallet. Ensure its security by writing it down and storing it safely.

Opening the App and Setting Up Your Wallet

  1. Launch the Wallet App: After installing the wallet app on your mobile device, tap on the app icon to open it.
  2. Initial Choice: Upon opening the app for the first time, you will generally be presented with two options:
  • Create a New Wallet: This is for users who are setting up their new Web3 wallet for the first time.
  • Import an Existing Wallet: This option is for users who already have a wallet and wish to access it on the device you’re logged into while viewing the app.

Creating a New Wallet

  1. Agree to Terms and Conditions: You might first need to agree to the app’s terms and conditions

  2. Secure Account Creation: The app will prompt you to create a new wallet. This process involves generating a new set of private and public keys.

  3. Password Creation: You will be asked to create a strong password. This password will be used to access your wallet on this device.

  4. Seed Phrase Generation: The most crucial step is the generation of a seed phrase (also known as a recovery phrase or backup phrase). This is a series of 12 to 24 words generated by the wallet. The seed phrase is essentially the master key to your wallet.

  5. Write Down Seed Phrase: It is imperative that you write down this seed phrase and store it in a safe and secure place. Never store it digitally or share it with anyone.

  6. Verify Seed Phrase: To ensure you have correctly noted down your seed phrase, the app will usually ask you to re-enter the phrase in the correct order.

Key Points to Remember:

  • Your seed phrase is the key to your wallet. Keep it secure and never share it.
  • Always download wallet applications from official sources to avoid scams.
  • Familiarize yourself with the wallet's features and settings for a smooth experience.

Acquiring and SPORK Tokens

  1. Visit the Faucet Page: Navigate to the faucet page designated for dispensing SPORK and MATIC tokens.
  2. Fill Out and Submit the Form: Provide the required information, typically including your wallet address, and submit the form to receive a small amount of MATIC and SPORK tokens.
  3. Verify Receipt of Tokens: Check your wallet after some time to confirm the receipt of the tokens.

  • Agree to the Terms of Service (ToS) presented in the form.
  • Enter your email address and wallet address in the respective fields. If you don’t have a wallet address, follow the instructions above.
  • After providing all the requested information, submit the form.

Shortly after submitting the form, we will send you 1 Spork Token and enough ‘MATIC’ tokens to transact on the polygon network.

  • Connecting your wallet should automatically trigger a request to switch networks.
  • Press confirm.
  • If it does not automatically switch networks, follow the instructions below:

Switching Networks:

On the staking website, you will likely be prompted to switch your wallet’s network to the Polygon network.

IF you’re not asked to switch networks:

  1. Accessing Network Settings: Typically, you can find the network settings in the dropdown menu at the top of your wallet interface. This menu is often represented by a network name (like "Ethereum Mainnet") or an icon symbolizing the network you’re connected to.

  2. Locating Network Options: Once you click on this dropdown, you'll see a list of available networks that your wallet currently supports. This list usually includes major networks like Ethereum, but may not include Polygon by default.

  3. Adding a New Network: At the bottom of this list, there’s often an option to add a new network or access advanced settings. This option might be labeled as "Add Network," "Custom RPC," or something similar.

  4. Input Network Details: After selecting the option to add a network, you'll need to input specific details for the Polygon network, such as the RPC URL, Chain ID, currency symbol (MATIC), and a block explorer URL.

  • Press connect wallet and confirm your signature for the “Polygon” Network
  • Network Name: Polygon Mainnet
  • New RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com/ (or another reliable RPC URL)
  • Chain ID: 137
  • Symbol: MATIC
  • Block Explorer URL: https://polygonscan.com/

  1. Saving and Switching Networks: Once you've entered all the necessary details and saved them, the new network (Polygon, in this case) will be added to your wallet's network list. You can then select it anytime from the network dropdown menu to switch between networks.

Staking your SPORK Tokens

  1. Visit the Faucet Page: Navigate to the faucet page designated for dispensing SPORK and MATIC tokens.
  2. Fill Out and Submit the Form: Provide the required information, typically including your wallet address, and submit the form to receive a small amount of MATIC and SPORK tokens.
  3. Verify Receipt of Tokens: Check your wallet after some time to confirm the receipt of the tokens.

To stake your SPORK on the SporkDAO website, follow these steps:

  1. Connect Wallet: Visit the SporkDAO website and connect your wallet. If prompted, ensure you select the Polygon network.
  1. Verify Wallet: Your wallet will ask for a signature to verify your identity. Follow the prompt to connect.

  2. Agree to Terms of Service (ToS): A prompt will appear for you to agree to the ToS. Confirm your agreement.
  1. Enter Personal Details: Fill in your name, email, and country of residence as requested on the new screen.
  1. Stake SPORK Tokens:
  • Click the "max" button to choose the maximum amount of SPORK tokens you can stake.
  • Confirm the staking amount and press 'Stake'.
  • Your wallet will ask for approval of the staking amount. Press Confirm.
    - This is only approving that you are authorizing the website to use 1 spork for your forthcoming transaction to stake SPORK.
  • A loading indicator will appear on the staking button, signifying the approval process. Your wallet should also recognize the approval confirmation.

  • After the approval, press stake again and return to your wallet for a final transaction confirmation that should be awaiting your confirmation. Press Confirm!
  • Confirm the transaction to stake your SPORK and receive your sSpork!
