Online blockchain gaming platform

Blockchain-based Microtransactions

One of the challenges facing those developing blockchain gaming platforms like Gala Games, is the fact that the blockchain industry has not yet caught up to the gaming industry requirements for usage volume and throughput. As our CEO, Eric Schiermeyer says, "they haven't made a blockchain yet that can beat MongoDB." We know this, but we believe it is possible for a blockchain to scale radically to handle the volume of transactions needed to handle a major mass market game. We would like to see a proposed ecosystem map that demonstrates how such a system could be constructed using existing technologies and/or net technologies.

There will be three $1000 bounties for the best ideas.

Things to keep in mind: The main point here is that we will need to be able to handle gaming microtransactions on-chain. Consider a model that could theoretically handle 100,000,000 daily users, each making 10 transactions per day with surges in specific times (rush hour traffic, etc).

This hasn't been done before, so we are looking for ideas only at this point. While code or functional Proof-of-Concepts are helpful, they are not required.
