Ceramic Network

Updated: Feb 7

Ceramic is a public, permissionless, censorship-resistant network for managing mutable content on the open internet. Ceramic combines IPFS, libp2p, blockchain, DIDs, and standards for authenticated data to give developers the ability to build completely serverless applications using dynamic, verifiable, decentralized data. On Ceramic all content is stored in smart documents, which are anchored on the Ethereum blockchain. Users can interact with Ceramic using their existing blockchain wallets.

IDX is an identity protocol and easy-to-use SDK built on Ceramic that provides a cross-chain and cross-platform way to manage users and their data. IDX allows developers to replace centralized user tables with a decentralized, user-centric alternative which unlocks accounts, profiles, social graphs, and application data from silos and enables it to seamlessly flow between applications and networks..

Bounty 2

Best use of IDX (Identity Index)

Description:

IDX is an identity protocol and easy-to-use SDK built on Ceramic that provides a cross-chain and cross-platform way to manage users and their data. IDX allows developers to replace centralized user tables with a decentralized, user-centric alternative which unlocks profiles, social graphs, and application data from silos and enables it to seamlessly flow between applications.

This prize is for the best use of IDX to manage identities, data, or other information in a hackathon project. Submissions will be judged based on the quality of the project overall as well as how well (deeply and effectively) IDX is used. IDX is currently in beta.

Best new tools for the Ceramic Network

Description:

This is an open prize for the creation of any new tooling that supports developers or users in the Ceramic ecosystem. This could include creating a network explorer, extending the IdentityLink verification service (link below) with new Web2 account verification services (e.g., Telegram, Matrix, Discourse, KYC), creating an extension to pin (persist) a specific set of smart documents based on a user's DID, creating a tool to import Web2 social data into IDX (link below), adding support for authentication in 3ID Connect (link below) for new blockchains, or anything else you think would be useful.

Bounty 5

Best use of Ceramic Network x Textile.io

Description:

With projects exploring how to link data with identity, and especially for use-cases of personal, social, and collaborative apps, there is a lot of opportunity to join Ceramic and Textile. This is an open prize for using Ceramic Network smart documents or IDX identity management alongside Textile.io (ThreadsDB, Buckets, or Powergate) in your hack.

Some ideas on how to use the two technologies together include:

- Build file-sharing using Buckets to persist data and using IDX identities to discover, share, and permission the data.

- Use IDX and Threads to build large-scale group chat.

- Use IDX and Threads to create an embeddable support chat library for your (and other) dapp(s).

- Distribute or sell datasets stored in Buckets and managed in Ceramic documents.

Prize:

There are 2 bounties available, one provided by Ceramic and one provided by Textile. Each for 500 DAI for a total possible 1000 DAI. Be sure you submit your project to both bounties!
